Today I had a small interaction – one that most wouldn’t even have noticed. But, for me, cracked open the foundation.

Graham Nolan was on John’s Longbox YouTube Channel for an interview, and I asked the question:

When you’re drawing a page, how do you maintain focus throughout the day? Especially later in the day?

I’ve timestamped his answer HERE.

His answer, although useful, was something he struggled to relate to. At first I was a little confused – until I considered another reality… one where this truly isn’t an issue for some. And it got me thinking – not about the myriad distractions I “claim” to have, but rather what comes before these professed distractions: that Graham, and people of a similar character, simply do not tolerate their focus from being broken. It’s a non-starter for them.

Others might go on and on, arguing this or that reason for why they are distracted and cannot focus, but that is exactly what cannot be tolerated – at all.

Which, for many, would be a paradigm shift in not just thinking, but I suspect, in character.

NO! Try not! DO or DO NOT. There is no try.
